In recent years, the high and rising prevalence of myopia among children and adolescents in our country has become a major issue related to the future of our nation. Governments, schools, parents and medical institutions have attached great importance to myopia prevention and control, and such work is actively advancing across the country. In 2018, the Siyuan Experimental School in Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province became a “Future Aerospace Personnel Program” experimental school and a “Youth Aviation School Recruitment Base of the Air Force”. With the support of the China Next Generation Education Foundation, the “China Campus Health Action Bright Eye Project”, and the Public Eye Protection Alliance of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Sports Center, the school adheres to the concept of “putting health first” and promoting all-round development. Focusing on middle school students, the school promotes “visual health” characteristic courses and realizes safe, effective, convenient, and economical campus myopia prevention and control. The results are remarkable:
◆ The overall myopia rate of all students has decreased by 9.46% in six months!
◆ In 2021, four students from the school were respectively admitted to the Youth Aviation Schools of the Air Force and the Navy. The annual enrollment quantity ranked first in Hubei Province!
◆ The school was awarded as an advanced unit in the recruitment work of the Youth Aviation Schools of the Air Force in 2021!
◆ For two consecutive years, five students have been admitted to the Youth Aviation Schools of the Air Force and the Navy, with the number ranking first in the province and the country!

Experts have pointed out that the probability of fundus lesions in patients with myopia, especially high myopia, is much higher than that of ordinary people.
